DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, and its Security & Solutions business, are setting goals that will help them provide security-related products and services for packaging products in the global fight against counterfeiting and tampering. Here, we briefly look at the approach that DuPont is adopting. To combat the problem of counterfeiting and tampering, US company DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers (P&IP) says that it is aiming to achieve the following goals: 1. help prevent the introduction of counterfeit products and the diversion of goods; 2. minimize the risk and exposure of consumers to counterfeit products; 3. facilitate the identification of counterfeit and diverted products; 4. help customers regain lost revenue from diversion and/or counterfeits; 5. protect its customer's brand integrity; and 6. avoid the addition of unnecessary costs. The company has also begun to strengthen its position in the anti-counterfeiting market place by purchasing an equity stake in Identif GmbH of Erlangen, Germany, and forming a marketing agreement with the company.
