Consumer packaged goods veteran takes the helm at Welch's

CONCORD, MASS. - Trevor Bynum has been named president and chief executive officer of Welch's, effective Oct. 1. He succeeds Brad Irwin, who will retire after 10 years leading the company. Mr. Bynum joins Welch's from the Schwan Food Co., where he was president of the company's food service division since 2014. Previously, he spent eight years at WhiteWave Foods - now owned by Danone S.A. - as vice-president and general manager of growth channels and, before that, vice-president of marketing. Prior to his time with WhiteWave, Mr. Bynum was a marketing manager at General Mills. He also served in the U.S. Army for eight years, where he achieved the rank of captain.
