Overview of the Hungarian packaging industry

A brief overview of the structure of the Hungarian packaging market is presented as well as recent trends in packaging development. The activities of several industrial organizations in the Hungarian packaging material industry (CASOSZ/HAPEC) are reviewed, together with their suggestions for responsible solutions to the packaging waste problem. The eventual agree- ment regarding the handling of packaging waste be- tween the industrial associations and the Ministry for environmental Protection is outlined.
