Bei einer Reihe industrieller bzw. chemischer Prozesse entsteht - quasi als Abfallprodukt - Gas. Die Verrottung organischer Materie in Mülldeponien und Klärschlamm-Faultürmen setzt Biogase frei. Auch in zahlreichen Industriebetrieben fallen während der Produktion brennbare Gase an. Als Beispiel seien hier die Kokserzeugung und viele Prozesse der Chemischen Industrie genannt.%Gas originates in a number of industrial and chemical processes to some degree as a waste product. The decomposition of organic material in landfills and sewage sludge digestion tanks liberates biogases. In many industrial companies, too, combustible gases result during production. Examples here are coke production and many processes in the chemical industry.
