Pleasant season end at Duxford

This year's UK airshow season came to a conclusion at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambs, on October 14 and the event certainly enjoyed some very favourable weather for the time of year. The display featured a wide variety of types, ranging from a Hawker Nimrod biplane to a General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The jet was from the Belgian Air Force and after a dynamic solo display with 'smoke-winders' on its wingtips, formed up with Supermarine Spitfire XVIII SM845 (G-BUOS) and North American TF-51 Mustang 44-84847 'Miss Velma' (N251RJ) for a series of flypasts again trailing smoke. This was one of the highlights of the show, and culminated with a 'starburst' spilt in front of the crowd.
