A special event was held at Stockholm's Arlanda airport on September 22 to mark the Le Caravelle Club's tenth birthday. The group is the custodian of Sud Aviation Caravelle 3 SE-DAI, which it keeps in immaculate, running condition.rnThe French-built Caravelle was first flown in 1955 and pioneered the concept of airliners with two jet engines at the back of the fuselage, an arrangement that was later widely adopted. The CaravellernSystem was the first Caravelle operator, with its initial delivery taking place in 1959. The type provided excellent service until the early 1970s when they were retired; being replaced by more modern and less noisy types.
