The Israel Air and Space Force (IASF) Museum's North American T-6G Texan '001' has returned to the air after seven years of grounding and is again based at Hatzerim. The trainer was delivered to the lASF's Air Maintenance Unit in 2002, where it was dismantled and then transported to the Arkia depot in Dov Field, Tel Aviv.rnThe airframe has been overhauled and returned to flying status, with museum pilots Dedi Rosental and Rami Lotan at the controls. This Texan, which did not serve with the Israeli forces, was acquired in 1976. It served with the French Air Force from the early 1950s and was briefly on the UK civil register as G-BDZZ before being supplied to Israel.
