Trying to fly in the face of adversity

Airsho 2009, the Commemorative Air Force's annual showcase event hosted at Midland, Texas, took place this year over the weekend of October 10-11, and sadly was not blessed by the weather gods. According to CAF President/CEO Stephan Brown, this was only the second time in the past 16 years that they had been forced to cancel a large part of the flying programme because of adverse conditions.rnFirst chartered as a non-profit corporation at Rebel Field, Mercedes, Texas, on September 6,1961, as the Confederate Air Force, the CAF has grown over the years to include nearly 9,000 members and more than 150 aircraft dispersed amongst 74 units across the US and in four foreign countries.
