Hendon chief to retire

Dr Michael Fopp, Director General of the RAF Museum at Hendon, London, for the last 22 years, will retire in June.rnMichael, 62, has presided over several significant changes at the museum, including the opening of its highly praised 'Milestones of Flight' exhibition and the Grahame White factory building. Its other site, at Cosford, Shropshire, has won acclaim for its National Cold War Exhibition, which opened in 2007.rnHis long association with Hendon will not end with retirement - he will assist a fund-raising campaign for a major Hendon-based Battle of Britain related project. "I have worked for the RAF Museum for more than half my working life and I am delighted that, even in retirement, I will still have a role to play in its success and development," he said.
