Transmac's hand-carved models adorn high-powered desks, the foyers of aviation businesses and the halls of museums and they always turn heads. Increasingly, enthusiasts are realising that they too can savour a top-notch, hand-finished, very limited edition model. Latest from the stable is the delightful DH Dragon Rapide, available in two colours schemes: G-AEAL Star of Yorkshire of Railway Air Services and G-AGSH of BEA - the latter still grace our skies, based at Old Warden, Beds. With a wingspan of 13 1/4 in (33.65cm), the detailing is fantastic, down to the tiny airflow-driven generator in the port leading edge and the 'bird cage' of rigging wires. Up to 35 coats of paint are needed to achieve the exceptional standard of finish and each model is individually decorated by an artist.
