The annual airshow at La Ferte Alais in the Essonne region of northern France is a regular highlight on the historic aviation calendar. Home to the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis (AJBS) collection and the now sadly grounded Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Pink Lady among others, the event always attracts an interesting variety of classic aeroplanes. This year's show, on June 11 and 12, marked the centenary of French manufacturer Morane-Saulnier. A number of MS creations were flying on the day, celebrating everything from the Type H that made the first flight across the Mediterranean to more modern examples, including jets. There was also a line-up of five Yakovlev Yak-3s and -11s, and aircraft from the AJBS collection, including its Junkers Ju 52 (actually a Spanish-built CASA 352) F-AZJU.
