Imperial War Museum Duxford removed Boeing B-17G '42-31983' Mary Alice from its American Air Museum on the morning of May 19. While being transported to Hangar 5 for conservation work one of the temporary wheels collapsed causing a delay to its journey. The work on the bomber, which has already had its wings and engines Boeing B-17G 'Mary Alice' exiting the American Air Museum fire doors on May 19. KEY-NIGEL PRICE taken off, is expected to take around 16 months, and will include a repaint in a new colour scheme. Hangar 5 will remain open to the public during this time, enabling visitors to see the conservation work in action.
