Fairev Battle oilot laid to rest

The body of a Belgian pilot, who flew Fairey Battles in 1940, has been identified and was buried with military honours on July 24 at Halloy, Belgium. Charles de Hepcee led 5 Escadrille on several hazardous operations in an attempt to counter the German invasion in May 1940. After the Belgian surrender, Charles went on to join the resistance movement, also establishing an orphanage to hide Jewish children.
