A small band of volunteers form the Boxted Airfield Historical Group and while their recently-inaugurated museum is of modest proportions, the story told is compelling and well presented. Two Nissen huts huddled together on the, western edge of the former USAAF Station 150, Boxted in Essex serve to remind visitors of wartime days. The group, led by its chairman Richard Turner, aims to inform, but not over-awe visitors and displays are designed to allow for 'grazing' or deeper exploration. Any urges to overload the place with artefacts have been suppressed and the approach is a shining valediction of the notion that 'less is more'.
