Brooklands heads for the finishing straight

Motor racing ceased at Brooklands, near Weybridge in Surrey, on the outbreak of World War Two. In 1940 Vickers erected buildings on what was the world's first purpose-built motor-racing circuit, which opened in 1907. A hangar for the assembly of Wellingtons was built on top of the finishing straight, and today it houses much of the Brooklands Museum's aviation collection, including the loch Ness' Wellington R-for-Robert.
