摘要

It was with more than the usual interest that I read Geoff Jones' article on the BA Swallow, G-AFGD. Many summers back, my late friend Don Ellis at Sandown owned G-AFGE, first registered on the same day as 'GD. Don and I used to fly in tight formation to air displays along the south coast and occasionally he let me fly his Swallow in exchange for a go in my Luton Minor. By an odd coincidence, at the end of the war, several Swallows were found hidden in barns around the Isle of Wight, all of which were rescued and given a new life.
