K'sar's Hunters

I really enjoyed Nigel Walpole's 'Arabian Avenger' article on the RAF Khormaksar Strike Wing Hunter aircraft and squadrons [February issue]. I did my first flying tour on 43 Squadron at Khormaksar (always shortened to K'sar) from March 1965 to March 1967 which spanned some of the time described by Nigel, and I well remember the Beihan airstrip adventure, although, as a first tour junior pilot, I was (fortunately?) not amongst the chosen few.
