As we closed for press in mid-January, we received the great news that an EE Lightning jet had re-flown in South Africa. The air test, the first Lightning flight since 2009, went very well and it's hoped that the T.5 will be joined by two F.6 single-seaters in due course. The aircraft's operator tells me that the jets will be regularly flown and will perform at selected airshows in South Africa - a mouth-watering prospect in the making. Getting XS452 back in the air is a massiue achievement, so a big 'well done' to all those inuolued.
