Plans are under way to recover the last remaining RCAF Northrop A-17 Nomad from the bottom of Lake Muskoka in Ontario. Nomad 3521 will then be transported to the National Air Force Museum of Canada at Trenton. The two-seat light attack bomber crashed into the lake in December 1940 after a mid-air collision. It was discovered in July 2010, and in October 2012 the remains of Fit Lt Pete Campbell and LAC Ted Bates were recovered and buried with full military honours. The Nomad, one of 32 delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force, is currently in five pieces but otherwise believed to be in relatively good condition.
