Work gets under way on giant flying boat replica

A team in Germany is attempting to build a full-scale static replica of the six-engined Dornier Do X flying boat, which first flew in 1929. At the time, it was the largest and heaviest flying boat in the world - only three were made and none survives today. More than 100 students from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Co-operative State University in the city of Friedrichshafen have been involved with the Friends and Supporters Association Do X project.
