Work is continuing at GossHawk Unlimited's facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, to return the Collings Foundation's Focke-Wulf Fw190F-8Wk Nr 93182 ('White 1') to the air (see FP, January 2020). Most recently, the cockpit, radio, and gun bays have been fitted, while the BMW 801D engine was hung to allow the team to manufacture the cowling and associated systems. On March 18, the powerplant was sent to Vintage Aero in Tehachapi, California, for testing. The team will now focus on preparing and installing the type's canopy, which includes an intricate ejection system that has been overhauled by Cullity & Son Restorations of East Sandwich, Massachusetts.
