The National Warplane Museum (NWM) in Geneseo, New York is currently in the process of restoring Lockheed C-130A Hercules 57-0460 following its arrival on August 20. Once completed, the aircraft - which has been christened 'Saigon Lady' - will become the centrepiece of a planned Vietnam War memorial at the attraction. The aeroplane has a distinguished history, having flown with both the USAF and the Vietnamese Air Force (VNAF). It was during service with the latter that the airframe gained notoriety. Lt Pham Quang Kheim of the VNAF stole the Hercules and flew his family out of Saigon to Singapore during the final days of the conflict; it was one of the last aircraft to leave the city before it fell to the North Vietnamese.
