Well, hello again. In my neck of the woods, the contest season has just wrapped up for the year, and among other things, it's time to figure out what the World-beater for next year will be. So much has happened in equipment development, this last year. The biplane has popped up for maybe the third time in Pattern history, with Chip Hyde's Double Vision carrying him to the podium. Two other notable biplanes showed but did not fly at the Worlds in Poland: Christophe Paysant-LeRoux flew his trusty Synergy rather than the new Suxxes, and Tetsuo Onda set aside his Narlar bipe for a monoplane. The last time anyone flew a bipe at the Worlds was in "87 when both Tony Frackowiak and Tobias Schulz showed up with designs as different from each other as from all those monoplanes. Before that you have to go back to Hal DeBolt's bipe in the reed days.
