Yet more timers? You betcha! Don Gray runs a rudder only contest for DCRC and was interested in using his old ACE Commander system in his Junior Falcon. He also wanted to fly it at the CASA field which is for silent power only (no wet engines). He asked me to recommend a timer for a brushless motor for this application. Sergio Zigras now has a Z-tron Simple Control Line Timer which is available from www.bsdmicro.com for $20. It has two pots: one sets the speed, and the other sets the time up to eight minutes. Since it plugs into the ESC and takes its power from the BEC in the ESC, it is not sensitive to the battery voltage.
