AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM'S NEW ANNEX

FOR YEARS, THE NATIONAL AIR and Space Museum's (NASM) Silver Hill restoration facility in Suitland, Maryland, was crammed with aviation treasures because its flagship building on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. didn't have enough space to exhibit all of the aircraft. With the opening of NASM's new annex at Dulles Airport on December 15, they can now be displayed. The $311 million site nearly triples NASM's exhibit space and allows it to show more than 80 percent of its collection for the first time. Just 10 percent,of it has previously been exhibited.
