China's only Airbus A380 operator has not abandoned the prospect of using its super-jumbos internationally, despite a ban on it competing with other Chinese carriers. China Southern Airlines has been unable to operate its five A380s from Beijing to cities in Europe and the USA since taking delivery of the type in 2011. The Chinese government prevents the country's airlines competing directly on international services. In an interview with Flight-global, chairman Si Xian Min says he believes the regulator will "fully consider" its requests to use the aircraft effectively.
