The German air force has taken delivery of its first four Eurofighter Typhoons equipped for air-to-ground attack. The aircraft were handed over to Fighter Bomber squadron 31 at its base in Noervenich, in North Rhine Westphalia, where they will replace the 31's Panavia Tornados by the end of June 2010 and are expected to be fully operational with all weather GBU-48 laser-guided bombs and the laser designator pod by 2012.
