FlyDubai airborne as 737 arrives

Gulf start-up FlyDubai is ready to launch services on 1 June after receiving its first of 50 Boeing 737-800S on order. The Dubai government-owned airline has disclosed its initial four destinations: Alexandria, Amman, Beirut and Damascus. FlyDubai signed for 50 737-800s at last year's Farnbor-ough air show. The airline, which is a launch customer for the 737 enhancement package recently announced by Boeing, has the option to trade part of the order up to the larger -900ER variant.
