Delta keeps 787s but delays arrival

Delta Air Lines has deferred deliveries of its 18 Boeing 787s until next decade. In a filing with the US Security and Exchange Commission, Delta disclosed that it had reached an agreement with Boeing under which it reaffirms its 787 order, but pushes back delivery of the aircraft. Originally due to arrive between 2008 and 2010, the 18 jets will now be received be-tween 2020 and 2022.When Delta completed a merg-er with Northwest Airlines last year, it inherited the S2.2 billion order. Northwest was initially al-located two of the original six flight-test aircraft, but this changed when the first three aircraft were determined to have no value.
