Air New Zealand, launch customer for the 787-9, has confirmed the initial routes to be served by its fleet of 10 Dreamliners. The key long-haul destinations for the new type, due to enter service with the carrier from mid-2014, will be Shanghai and Tokyo, while it will also operate to some medium-haul destinations such as Perth, Honolulu and Papeete. The airline will configure its twinjets in a four-class layout with business and premium economy cabins, an economy section featuring its Skycouch seats, and a standard economy cabin. However, it has yet to reveal the precise occupancy of each section.
