RAF receives its first delivery of Chinook HC6s

The UK Royal Air Force has taken delivery of the first three Boeing CH-47 Chinook HC6 transport helicopters from an order for 14 of the heavy-lift type. To be based at RAF Odiham in Hampshire, the aircraft arrived in the UK on 19 December 2013, says the Ministry of Defence. They will enter service early this year with the start of training activities. The remainder of the Chinooks "are on schedule to be delivered by the end of 2015", the MoD adds.
