Attack helicopter rivals firing up charm offensive in Poland

Rivals pursuing the Polish military's attack helicopter requirement used the recent MSPO show in Kielce to highlight the benefits of their proposals to the nation's defence industry. Warsaw has been gearing up to replace the Mil Mi-24s operated by the Polish land forces under its Kruk programme, with a request for proposals due for release shortly. Bell Helicopter - which will offer its AH-1Z Viper - says that if selected, it will set up a local assembly line for the type and add Polish companies to its supply chain for major sub-assemblies. It already has co-operation agreements in place with a number of national companies, including Polska Grupa Zbrojenio-wa and WZL-1.
