SuperTanker to fight the world's fires

The world's largest aerial firefighting asset - the Boeing 747-400-based Global Super-Tanker - is almost ready to begin commercial operations. Jim Wheeler, president and chief executive of Colorado Springs-based Global SuperTank-er Services, expects the US Federal Aviation Administration to approve an amended supplemental type certificate for the modified platform in early May.
