Avior hit by EC exclusion over safety concerns

Venezuelan carrier Avior Airlines has been formally blacklisted by the European Commission over unresolved safety deficiencies. Avior becomes one of only six carriers singled out on the blacklist, aside from blanket bans on entire countries, after its application for European third-country authorisation generated concerns. Ukrainian turboprop operator Urga and small Caribbean airline Mustique Airways have been removed from the list after their inclusion in May, following safety improvements.
