It is always a concern when writing about a breaking news subject for FIRE. One does not know whether the subject is going to change by the time the article is actually published. The trade union dispute between the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) and the government is one of those issues, a matter that could change at any time and more than likely, will make the next 1,700 words redundant. At the time of writing, the FBU have just undertaken a four-hour strike in England and Wales. Fortunately, no major incidents occurred and the contingency arrangements held up-for now.
