European Parliament to set higher standard for construction products

MEPs have recently called in the resolution, adopted with 686 votes in favour (four against, five abstentions), on the European Commission to find a quick and viable way to improve and speed up the standardisation process for construction products. Of the 444 existing harmonised standards for construction products, only 12 new ones have been issued since the Construction Products Regulation was adopted in 2011, hindering the free movement of products in the EU.
