Last May it was the gender pay gap, now it is the ethnicity pay gap. On October 11,2018 the Prime Minister Theresa May announced a series of measures to tackle the barriers that black and minority ethnic (BAME) people face in their careers- specifically, the disparities in pay and progression compared with their white colleagues. This is not the first time the Prime Minister has spoken about leadership on this issue - last year she introduced a race audit for public services to report on, declaring "the audit means that for society as a whole - for government, for our public services- there is nowhere to hide."
