Two men have been charged with manslaughter following the deaths of two firefighters at the Festival Fireworks depot in East Sussex on 3 December 2006. Martin Winter (50) and Nathan Winter (23) were charged with two counts of manslaughter and were bailed to appear at Lewes Magistrates Court. The company, now known as Alpha Fireworks Ltd, has been summonsed for breaches of the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations 2005. The two firefighters died while tackling the fire and 12 other people were injured. Full inquests into their deaths have yet to be held as inquiries by Sussex Police and the Health and Safety Executive continue.
