In-tank storage heaters used within plastic process tanks are a major cause of fire in the electroplating and anodising industry. David Hemsley explains the precautions that should be taken to reduce the risk of fire in this major industrial sector. Electro-plating and anodised finishes are used on a wide variety of articles and components. Such finishes represent the second largest market sector in the metal finishing industry, after paint and powder coating.
