Flood rescue update

The Chief Fire Officers' Association (CFOA) began a research project into major flooding and inland water rescue after the 2004 national flood exercise, Exercise Triton. A key driver for the project was the Government's proposals at the time to make flooding a statutory duty for the UK-wide fire and rescue service, with an extensive consultation process aimed at designating a range of statutory 'emergencies'.
