With summer upon us, the next couple of months offer up major sporting events like the London Olympics and the British F1 Grand Prix, while many people will take the opportunity to unwind and get out and about. Tapping into the summer vibe, this month's FRM looks at the fire safety thinking behind many of these activities. They don't come much bigger than the Olympics. When 'the greatest show on earth' kicks off at the end of July, London will experience a massive influx of people - an extra 500,000 each day during the Games period will descend on 22 venues across the capital, including the Olympic Park, with a host of events taking place at other locations across England.
