摘要

This study investigates the active vibration control of a flexible beam mounted on an elastic base. The beam system is analyzed using a finite element approach, and takes into account the effects of shearing deformation and rotary inertia. An independent modal space control (IMSC) is applied for modal decoupling of the system and design of a vibration controller. This controller applies the principle of optimal control to suppress excessive vibration of the beam when subjected to base excitation, thereby improving the system dynamic characteristics. Impulsive, pure tone, and sweeping excitations are considered. It is demonstrated that the control strategy is effective for vibration suppression of the beam system under any of these types of disturbances.
