LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

摘要

Having just received my most recent Financial Analysts journal, I am amazed, not for the first time, by the graphs, formulas, charts, algorithms, and quantitative techniques being used to understand our business. Industry conferences also emphasize quantitative methodology and the various techniques available to try to understand a business that defies a single mathematical formula. To be in the business of investment management, one has to enjoy numbers. Nonetheless, we all know that ours is primarily a business of trust. The obvious question that arises is, Where are the conferences and magazine articles explaining the ethics of our business? Have we put too much emphasis on quantitative methods and not enough on investment management ethics?
