Solids/liquid separation is an important unit operation in industrial processes. It can be found in all parts of a manufacturing process, from raw material purification, product separation, and all the way to waste handling. Although filtration and separation are nothing new to this industry, the growing emphasis on process efficiency and the drive for waste minimization has been bringing new challenges to this seemingly old and mature technology.
