NetCom BW taps DZS for fiber to the home/curb in Germany

DZS says that long-term customer NetCom BW, a subsidiary of German energy supply EnBW and supplier of broadband services in the southern German states of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria, will once again deploy systems from the communications technology supplier in a fiber expansion project. The roll-out will leverage the DZS Velocity fiber to the home (FTTH) and fiber to the curb product line. The deployments come as the German government has launched financial backing of broadband infrastructure roll-outs. The funding targets "white areas" where broadband services typically are below 30 Mbps downstream as well as "gray areas" where downstream rates typically are less than 100 Mbps.
