Korean builders in August collected a massive 34 orders for containerships. This month the number is a modest 8, but the size is impressive, as all of them are 11,400 TEU size. We saw the first bulk carrier order to Korea in a long time, newcomer Daehan secured 4 Capesizes from German owners at a fairly high price, reflecting early delivery. There was very active tanker ordering in all size segments for both crude- and product vessels. Hyundai Mipo demonstrated their desire to diversify production, adding further 5 midsize LPG carriers to their order book.
