So the focus remained on tankers, and we recorded 33 new orders in addition to 2 VLGCs and one LNG carrier. Stolt-Nielsen awarded SLS (former Shin-A) with a contract for 6 chemical carriers with SS center tanks, presumably same spec as they concluded with Norwegian Aker Group. With a price tag of USD 85 million per vessel, this was marginally below the Norwegian price. Shipping Corp of India finally confirmed 6 x LR1 with STX and long-time HHI client Novoship extended their relationship by placing four LR2s. The MR segment saw 7 new contracts, down from 8 contracts in September. Most of these contracts have been reported for 2009 delivery, of which now rather few remain available in Korea.
