Don Dunbar

Don Dunbar, one of the pioneers of aluminium boatbuilding in Western Australia, died unexpectedly in Singapore on March 23. He was 63.rnHaving served an apprenticeship as a toolmaker, Don worked in the steel construction industry for four years before his interest in boating led him to establish a fishing and diving venture. However, a lack of sufficient capital resulted in Don going back to the construction industry, where he held a number of management roles for five years at sites throughout Australia.
