South Boats planning to build 28m wind farm support vessel

According to the company, "The vessel has been designed following extensive research into the offshore wind farm industry and analysis of predominant wave conditions in the North Sea and future wind farm projects. The 28m just squeezes in under the 24m load line regulations at 23.8m, with a hull length of 26.0m and overall length of 27.9m. "The vessel is designed to carry up to 20 tonnes of containerised cargo and can be fitted with secondary access systems such as Houlder's Turbine Access System gangway. "Four independent propulsion lines will be fitted, with MTU 10V 2000 main engines coupled to Rolls Royce 45 A3 water jet units for sprint speeds in excess of 35 knots.
