MLC amendments will exercise shipowners in 2014

P&I clubs face a new challenge in 2014 as additional liability covers are placed on shipowners under the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC). The convention, which came into force on 20 August 2013, requires shipowners to carry onboard evidence that they have the requisite insurance cover when using ports of signed-up states.
